GH 1/25: Puke, I am Your Father

Docks:  Dante and Johnny stare out at the harbor and talk about how Sonny is going to name an undercover cop as his heir apparent instead of his own son.  Micheal, meanwhile, eaveslurks.

PCPD:  Sam has to write a parking ticket.  Was this what was going on with Facebook last week?  Maxie and Mac tumble into the room and quit talking when they see Sam.  I'm sure there's plot there, but I kind of feel the same way about buzzkill Sam lately.

Kept Woman Manor:  Lucky tearfully tells Sad Liz and Creepily Unemotional Nik that he knows they've been screwing behind his back.  Liz whines that she's sorry and knows it was wrong.  Lucky cuts her off and says "wrong" is forgetting their anniversary or paying the phone bill or not shutting the eff up about ribs and brownies for 15 years.  "screwing your brother's fiance is beyond wrong"  Lucky doesn't know what it is.  He hiss sobs that it's sick..  Tears run for their lives off of Liz's sad face, while Remorseless Nik looks mostly bored...or annoyed that all this salt water may stain his stupid prince clothes.  Lucky cries that he's going to have to figure out how he was so blind to what she really  is.  hahahahaha.  That was very satisfying.  Mostly because it stunned the bitchface right out of her
Credits

Haunted Star:  Luke and Tracy drink coffee and gossip about Lucky.  Luke says Lucky lives on hope and faith, and Liz and Nik just won the Betrayisimo achievement in Betrayal Wars.

Kept Woman Manor:  Pointless, Awful Nik has the audacity to raise his voice to Lucky and warn that he's going to say something he'll regret.  oy.  This causes Lucky to make a face that makes me laugh it's so angry and awesome.  The whole scene is beyond worth watching.  Dear youtube, thank you once again for existing.  Lucky half laughs in rage, asking Nik if he really just said that he's the one, of the three of them, who will have anything to regret.  Nik, to his credit, realizes what a jackass he just sounded like and backs off.  Liz wraps her arm around herself, as if she suddenly has  a shooting pain in her shoulder.  Lucky's eyes are red rimmed and at once glassy with rage and shooting out angst.  He's so ridiculously good in this scene, I don't have the skill set to convey.   Nik obnoxiously tells Lucky that he's the one Lucky should be mad at, that Liz tried to push this away, but he insisted.  and while Lucky is plenty angry at Nik, Nik never blew him while thinking of someone else.  Nik never got naked with him while thinking of someone else.  Nik never settled for him while fucking someone else.  So Lucky turns to Liz and asks her "what is it about you and cheating?"  He asks if that's the only way she can be excited.  If his touch bores her?  If she just goes around, saying to Nik "or whoever the man of the moment is" that he's the only one who really gets her.  hahahhaha.  That's so awesome.  This is so the speech I wanted Conan to make about NBC on Friday, but if I had to pick which one would choose to take the high road, I'd have picked it exactly as it's played out.  Liz crumples and says she doesn't think they should talk about this when he's drunk.  Lucky explodes while standing still that who cares, who cares if he's drunk or sober.  I'd have to watch this three more times to properly comment on each and every perfect moment of it.

Commercials

sorry, y'all.  apparently other stuff goes on, but it's only set up for tomorrow.

Kept Woman Manor:  Lucky approaches Nik and talks bitterly about how they were brothers of the same mother and how they'd come to think that mattered most.  Lucky tells Nik that he's just a Cassadine and nothing more (and totally on Lucky's side in regards to his wrath, but I don't understand saying 'you are a Cassadine' like it's a bad thing?)  Nik shifts uneasily and emotes a bit.  Nik says he's sorry and they didn't mean for this to happen.  Lucky's response is exactly what anyone in his position should say "I have no idea what that means."  I love Lucky so much today.  Or I love JJ, or both.  Liz is still wrapping her arms around herself like a straight jacket and meekly says she's sorry.  Lucky turns back to her and with a blank face says she's said that already.  He asks what happened.  That he thought they'd moved on and forgiven each other for Maxie and Jason.  She sobs that they did.  Nik yells at Lucky to not take it out on Liz, to be angry at him.  Lucky scoffs that Nik is so chivalrous.  He turns back to Liz and calls her a lying slut.  Best show ever.  (and I don't think Liz is a slut, but no one can argue about the lying thing with a straight face)  Nik again yells at Lucky to lay off Liz and take it out on him.  Lucky turns to Nik and says he'd love to.

Commercials

Olivia's Chocolate Apartment:  Dante continues to wrestle with the fact that a person who murders people for a living may have one or two redeeming qualities.  Dante is at least more concerned about the affects of his being convicted on his family.  But he's also worried about how Sonny will be betrayed.

Also, somehow everyone knows that Maxie saw Sonny with the giant red hand print that looked like a 5 year old made a turkey on his chest.

Kept Woman Manor:  Drama continues.  Awesomely Carly knocks on the door.  I can't stop laughing at how the hits keep coming.  Liz and Nik, of course, think they should wait and deal with this later.  Maybe after they've had a chance to bang in Lucky's car or on Jakeson's bed.  Maybe they can invite the town into hot threesomes, so everyone will be on their side.  Lucky answers the door.  Carly says she's come to invite them to Jocelyn's christening.  ha!  Lucky crazily says he'll be there.  Carly, the whole time is looking at Liz and Nik who look like they are being kept hostage by the end of Old Yeller.  Lucky then says that unfortunately, "Liz and Nik won't be able to make it because they'll be too busy rutting like FARM ANIMALS"  Yes, he said that.  To Carly.  Carly responds, as all of us would "I'm gonna go nowwwww."  It's hard to pick my favorite thing from this scene, but I think the best is Carly is the one who's all "gee, maybe you should think before you speak and act"    Liz begs Lucky to think of the children and Lucky snorts like a cornered bull and gets up in Liz's face and tells her she can whore around with whomever she wants, but she will never throw Cameron and Jake in his face again.  omg.  When is this coming on on Soapnet?

Commercials

Kept Woman Manor:

Then it gets really sad and awful and awesome and even more impossible to recap.  Nik and Liz again try pathetically to ask Lucky to see it their way.  or whatever it is they are doing.  I mean, in like 2 weeks, if he's still acting like this, they have a point.  but tonight?  they need to sit down, shut up and nod.  Lucky accuses Liz of handing herself out like candy.  More sobbing all around.  Lucky cradles Liz's beautiful face and asks "what happened to that girl?  What happened to that girl I found crying in the snow?"  they both sob and tremble.  Lucky weeps that he'll always love her, and he says it in a way that no one would doubt he means it.  He stumbles out the door on his grief.  Liz shudders and weeps, cradling herself and strangling herself at the same time.  Nik, whatever, guy, a bit out of your league on this one, but he looks sad too.

I don't remember everything that happened today, but I know I literally clapped at least once.

Jason's Penthouse:  Carly drove 100 mph to Jason's house to tell him that his beloved Liz "can no longer look down her halo at everyone" and also, she's probably worried about Jake.

Haunted Star:  Lucky shows up and asks for a drink and tells Luke that he called Liz all kinds of horrible names, and he doesn't think he even cares, and he loved her so much.  Luke says he's been here and the sense that you'll never regret any of it will pass.

Also, Looloo and Epiphany have a boring conversation about how Lucky's drinking and is an awful person, but Loo doesn't know Nik and Liz are sleeping together, and I wonder if she'll spend as much time gossiping about their faults to    EVERYONE SHE RUNS INTO for a week.  Serioulsy, Loo, it sucks to love an addict, but a little discretion?

Commercials

Olivia's Chocolate Apartment:  Dante grossly says he's come to admire Sonny, and now he has to destroy him.  Why is it that Dante is the one that has to change to make this storyline good?  Why isn't Sonny having conversations in which he looks at how Michael has turned out and wishes his sons had a chance to become good people without him.  Why can't it be Sonny who realizes that without his influence, he's genetically capable of creating decent people.  also:  if Dante becomes a Sonny apologist, then all that means to me is Sonny is incapable of creating anything worthwhile, genetic or otherwise.

Jason's Penthouse:  Carly is obnoxiously giddy about the little show she witnessed at Kept Woman Manor.  She tells Jason about the rutting like farm animals comment.  Jason says this is none of his business, and certainly none of hers.  Carly points out that Jason gave up custody b/c he thought Lucky and Liz would raise his son, but Lucky is gonna be out of the picture, and Liz is as crappy a mom as she is.  She's firmly on Team Lucky and says she has slept with brothers too, but she's full on taken her damn medicince and insults and been the town parriah etc, and she's so hilariously happy that Liz sucks as much as she does as a human being, that I can't help but to laugh.  She's so giddy that she's been hating on Liz b/c she's jealous and petty, but now she can hate on Liz b/c Liz has been flashing her not just bitchfaces, but HYPOCRITICAL bitchfaces.  She can't wait tosee Liz again and say nothing.  Just flash her a raised eyebrow as a glimpse of how much Carly loves that she knows that Liz knows that Carly knows they are the same.  While she's busy doing that, Jason remembers he has a son and wonders if he should do something about that.

Haunted Star:  Luke sadly tells Lucky he hopes he's numb.

Kept Woman Manor:  Liz cries that she deserved everything Lucky said.  Nik barfily sits to rub her feet, or whatever, and she throws him out.  Seriously, Nik.  Liz is a lying tramp, but even she isn't going to bang you tonight.  Geeze, dude.  Liz then begins to sob.  Deep, horrible, sincere sobs that come from so deep inside they hurt and suffocate.

Commercials

Corinthaus:  Diane tells Sonny that Maxie did well (lying to the one man in her life that has never failed her and has forgiven her everything) and that Sonny should be fine.  Michael shows up to say Dante is working for the cops.

Docks:  Looloo finds Nik waiting for the launch.  Nik says that Lucky knows that he and Liz have been sleeping together for months.  Loo calls him a selfish pig and asks how he could do this to his brother.

Maudlin song plays for the montage

Kept Woman Manor:  Liz sits at the top of the stairs and wonders what the protocol is for fedexing a scarf to Nik.

Haunted Star:  Luke is put in the strange position of being the Lucky to Lucky's Luke and try to talk about the future or hope or optimism.  Lucky says there's comfort in taking off the rose colored glasses and reveling in the madness.  He reaches for the bottle of whiskey, but Luke pulls it away.  "Careful son, a man who has nothing to lose has nothing to live for."

Best caps ever for a show that is finally worth watching.....if only for Lucky. Great job Mad. Have to laugh thinking about the SN board's railing against JJ saying he was too boyish for Elizabeth. He's more of man with his youthful facial hair than his predecessor and his six pack. Can't wait until 10:00!!! Smack Bitchface off and crayon in Bewilderedface!!!

I am absolutely appalled that anyone finds it amusing or entertaining to watch a woman be called a whore, slut, whatever the filthy word of the moment is in a loosely-veiled attempt to produce an emmy-reel for an actor that hasn't been on the show for a decade.

And whoever wrote this episode also viewed the woman as more acceptable, sweet, lovable, and/or attractive immediately after being raped?

There is NOTHING that will ever make this acceptable as daytime entertainment to me. ABC daytimes persistent portrayal of women as less than human is beyond disgusting.

Tears run for their lives off of Liz's sad face, while Remorseless Nik looks mostly bored

Doesn't that mostly sum up Tyler Christopher's (or is it Christopher Tyler) acting for the last few years?

Maybe I should send my son to Hollerwood and see if he can get a job at GH. All he does is stand around looking bored!

I cried yesterday watching JJ and RB and I teared up again reading your recap. Beautifully retold. I did think the writing devolved into a string of "filthy" slurs, as the poster above said, but Lucky was SO justified in everything he said and his performance was riveting! RB's "what's wrong with me" miraculously endeared me to her all over again.
If the Dante reveal is going to be as good as this reveal was, we've got serious emmy contention on this show.
But I have to agree on your comment on Dante becoming yet another Sonny apologist. Can't stand the idea of yet another strong (and BEAUTIFUL) character bowing down to sonny. Is it the money? It cannot be the dimples and the joker suit, can it?
Love your recaps so much, I wish we hung out on the same mb's. I stick to vanilla soap.com b/c I can't stand the soapnet font craziness and lack of organization. Also too old for 18pt. declarations of where posters stand on liason vs jasam.
